Purple Poppadom is in the Pink!

I have been so pleased with the reception given by the people of Cardiff to my new restaurant concept, Purple Poppadom in Canton, Cardiff.

Our new clientele is growing steadily and we are so pleased to see just how popular the restaurant has become in just under two months since opening. It is lovely to see old friends from before as well as a host of new people, but what they all have in common is discovering a new style of cuisine from our team.

We have been overwhelmed by wonderful reviews in the South Wales Echo, Cardiff Life, Buzz magazine and so many discerning food bloggers and critics whose observations we take very seriously indeed.

I had been formulating the concept of PP in my mind for a long time, and began to make it real following many discussions with my chef friends throughout the UK in early 2011.

When I first came to Cardiff my mission was to 're-define Indian cuisine.' The challenge I set myself with Purple Poppadom was to take that notion to entirely new levels. We have achieved this to my satisfaction so far, in the development of Purple, but I have a longer path I wish to follow.

Anyone who samples our Valentine's menu at the restaurant this year, I hope will experience the new direction I wish to take our cuisine. We describe it as 'Nouvelle Indian Cuisine' because we feel this most accurately conveys what we are aiming to achieve. I hope you will continue to follow me on my 5,000 mile culinary journey, which I am so happy to be continuing in Canton, Cardiff.
